Living in New England allows me to wear certain cold weather accessories I wouldn't normally wear in warmer winters. Leg warmers are crucial for me during the beginning and end of winter, when it's not cold enough to warrant long johns. The second winter here, I knitted myself this pair of leg warmers:
The purple striped one was made first. These are Clemson colors, and the yarn is leftover from a gift I sent my adviser in grad school. But after this first legwarmer, I ran out of purple. So I made the second one plain orange. Which also happens to be several rows shorter than the first one. These are pretty but they are worn under my pants, so they will do.
Since I am done with all my planned christmas gifts, I don't have a project. So the other night I decided to make myself a pretty pair of legwarmers. I found a stitch pattern that I had copied from a library book, measured how big around it should be, and cast on. Here it is so far (not the pattern in the back):
At least they will be all one color this time.
