Leftover hat

I don't think I've talked about it on this blog, but I've put myself on a yarn diet.  No new yarn until I've knitted down my stash some.  With the exception of the yarn I bought to make a neck warmer for a co-worker.  This yummy orange alpaca.  I also bought a skein of green alpaca, just in case she didn't like the orange (I didn't want to make two trips to the yarn store).  With the orange and green leftover I made 2 hats and used up all the yarn.  The first hat I didn't take a picture of because I made it at work and then gave it to a coworker.  Here is the second hat:

The brim is double thick.  I knitted for a bit and then turned it under.  That way my ears won't get cold. Also, this is a silly picture.

You can't really see in this picture, but there are tiny orange ear flaps on either side with an i cord long enough to tie under my chin.  I love this feature because tying the flaps closed really help with keeping the wind out of my ears.  And don't mind the pasty white skin tone, I swear it's not that bad.
