Starting the T quilt

Finally got enough motivation to sit down and start chopping some fabric.  I have taken fabrics from my friend Serenity's stash and my mother-in-law's stash (thank you!) and used a couple fabrics of my own. For a guide, I cut out a 1.5 inch square piece of cardboard then cut all the fabrics with scissors (instead of a rotary cutter).  It was easier than I thought it would be.

Here are my completed piles, including the cardboard guide in the upper left corner.

And for fun, here are some extra squares I cut out.  Originally I was cutting 2 squares out of each fabric to make sure I had enough squares.  Then I went through and chose at least one of each fabric square.  For the reds and blues there are no repeating fabric squares.

Next up, cutting a million white squares.  Yay.
