My goal for this month was to assemble the top to the T quilt before selling my sewing machine and moving. And it's done! I love it lots. There are several rows in which the squares are semi-squished looking but whatever. Once it's quilted it won't be terribly noticeable. Plus I am not going back and changing anything now.
Now, the question is how do I quilt it? I was originally thinking horizontal lines at every row but the squares don't line up nicely between 8x8 blocks. I could do horizontal lines every 1/2 inch but I'm not really in love with the idea. One idea I had was to quilt straight lines in all sorts of funky diagonal criss-cross lines, since there is a lot of diagonal lines in the map. Kind of like this:
I didn't want to quilt over the pictures of Boston when I was doing horizontal lines, to make the pictures stand out more. But should I stick with that rule if I quilt with criss-crossing? I could quilt a box around each of the pictures, and then when criss-crossing just stop at the box.
I want to get started with pinning the back to the top with the batting, but I have to located the batting somewhere in this house. Also, my sewing chair is an end table since we sold our chairs today.
